The NYTC, Inc. Outpatient Programs serve persons aged 18 years and older who are substance abusers with comprehensive treatment and case management services.
Clients attend group and individual sessions from three times to once a week, depending on their progress. Like other NYTC programs, treatment focuses on behavior, attitudes and lifestyle, thus addressing the underlying issues which have led to substance abuse and which prevent a person from living a successful life. The group sessions emphasize the importance of one’s peers in working through these issues. On average, a client will attend for twelve months. Clients are also eligible for referral to the more-intensive residential Serendipity programs if appropriate.
The clinical staff, which includes a supervising psychiatrist, work closely with mandating agencies and vocational resources.
Locations:
The Louis Concepcion Brooklyn Outpatient Program is located in the Brownsville-Ocean Hill community of Brooklyn, while the Herman Williams Queens Outpatient Program operates on Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica, Queens.
Licensing:
Both programs are licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
NYTC is also a recognized Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) provider, under the New York State Department of Health’s Medicaid Program.
